Privacy notice
Edward Brightman trading as Glareshield, makes RightSeat Co-pilot, CDU Link and Glareshield Panels files. This notice says what information is involved when you buy and use them. Contact: support@glareshieldsim.com.
When you buy
Purchases are handled by Paddle, which acts as the seller of record and processes your payment and tax. Paddle shares your name, email address, country and order details with us so that we can deliver the product, provide support and handle refunds. Paddle's own privacy policy covers what it does with your data. We keep order records for as long as UK tax and accounting rules require (currently 6 years), and support emails for 2 years.
When you use the software
The software runs on your own computer. It has no analytics, tracking or advertising, and it doesn't send us any information about you or your flights.
RightSeat only connects to the internet for features you use:
| Feature | What is sent | To whom |
|---|---|---|
| Destination weather | The airport code (for example EGLC) | aviationweather.gov (US National Weather Service) |
| Import flight plan | Your SimBrief username or pilot ID | SimBrief (Navigraph) |
| Licence check (from version 1.0) | Nothing: your licence key is checked on your computer | Nobody |
| AI First Officer with your own API key (optional, off by default) | Your question and the current flight facts it needs to answer (for example phase of flight, speeds, altitude, active checklist). Your key is stored only on your PC and sent only to Anthropic | Anthropic (under your own Anthropic account and its terms) |
Your settings, flight details and logs are stored only on your computer, in your Windows user folder. The optional tablet view serves the app on your home network only, and only when you turn it on.
CDU Link reads the CDU window on your own screen and sends the text to MobiFlight on the same computer. Nothing leaves your computer.
When you ask for support
Support questions in our Discord server and to support@glareshieldsim.com are answered first by an AI assistant. To do that, your message (and your Discord display name or email address) is sent to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, which processes it on our behalf. Anthropic doesn't use it to train its models and deletes it within 30 days under its standard API terms (longer only if a message is flagged for breaking its usage policy). Questions the AI can't answer, and anything about refunds, licences or your personal data, are passed to us and answered by a person. We keep support messages, the AI's answers and bug reports for 2 years, then delete them. Discord's own privacy policy covers what Discord does with messages in its service.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@glareshieldsim.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
